“I will always love you” was first recorded and written in 1973 by Dolly Parton, she then created a country version a year later in 1974 for her one-time partner fairing him goodbye as she decided that she wanted to pursue her career alone. Dolly’s song had hit the pop charts ranking at 53 and for adult contemporary at 17 in 1982.

Whitney Houston took Dolly Parton as an inspiration and recorded her version of the song ” I Will Always Love You” in 1992 which hit the charts of Hot Country Songs and remained at the top at number 1 spot for over 14 weeks. It became the best-selling single of all times as well as the best-selling single by a woman in music history.
