German Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen travelled to Saudi Arabia to meet up with prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. She was told that before she lands that her head must be covered with a headscarf (hijab). Ursula von der Leyen refused and wanted to set a clear example that women should be able to choose whether or not they want to wear a headscarf. The German minister faced backlash on social media but she still sticks by her beliefs.
