Everyone knows the emergency number, but everyone hopes that they would never need to dial it. Adrianne Ledesma, 17, found herself in a troubled situation when her father was experiencing a seizure. She ran to her phone and dialed 911 for emergency services, and no-one picked up twice, so on the third time she was cursing, and that is when McFarland answered the 911 call and heard her cursing. McFarland immediately handed up the phone call and then they handed up on her again the second time. Adrianne was desperate to save her father and rushed to her local police station to get some assistance.
When she got to the police station, she was met by McFarland who arrested her for abusing the emergency services number. McFarland has since been put on paid administrative leave, and the incident is being investigated. McFarland’s actions could have put Adrianne’s father’s life at risk.
