Sultan Olgun was working at a nearby cafe when she noticed a crowd forming around a pond and decided to record. The lake at Alexandra Palace, North London, was frozen and the water was below freezing. Lucy Byrne was seen jumping into the water with the rescue float and swam towards the dog and saved its life. She said the dog had been in the water for more than 30 minutes and no-one decided to do anything. As soon as Lucy saw the dog, she jumped in without asking anyone what was going on. Lucy left after saving the dog and did not want any recognition as she said any decent human being would have done the same.
